OCCUPATIONAL FIELD 41, MARINE CORPS EXCHANGE
The Marine Corps exchange OccFld includes the operations, management, and supervision of Marine Corps exchanges and clubs.
The functional areas include general administration, personnel management, accounting, procurement, retail sales, personal services, food and beverage service, and entertainment.
Qualifications include the knowledge and understanding of retail business, financial management, inventory and cost controls, hospitality business, and general correspondence.
This is a lateral move MOS with the grade structure starting at Sergeant. The duties involve a combination of technical skills in addition to administrative skills. Training for the MOS is provided through MOJT and formal schools.
Types of initial assignments available for MOS 4133 include sales clerk, stock control clerk, warehouse clerk, cash collector, assistant store manager, assistant bookkeeper, invoice clerk, payroll clerk, assistant club manager, assistant supply manager, duty manager, storeroom keeper, assistant bar/food supervisor, and bookkeeper.
The opportunity is available to serve in various category "B" assignments (MOS 8000-9599). Marines entering this OccFld receive MOS 4100, Basic Marine Corps Exchange Marine. They participate in routine exchange or club administrative and operational duties while training.
