Parris Island
Oh there's a place where Marines are made,
Yellin and a runnin day to day.
Mean DI's makin fighting machines,
They take boys and make them mean.
Get up in the mornin in the drizzle and rain,
Run all day till you feel the pain.
This is the place that God forgot,
Sand is deep and the sun is hot.
It's as fierce as your Drill Instructors face,
Parris Island is the name of this place
Orraaahhh
Oh Yeah
Oh Yeah
Parris Island
Marine Corps
Here we go
Here we go
Orraaahhh
Somewhere in the Jungle
Somewhere in the jungle
In the still of the night
There's a U.S. Marine
And he's looking for a fight
Somewhere in the desert
In the hot Saudi sun
There's a U.S. Marine
And he's fighting just for fun
But don't you cry no tears
And don't you tell him no lies
Cause he's a U.S. Marine
And it's just his way of life.
Somewhere there's a father
And he's drinking to his boy
He's a U.S. Marine
And he is his pride and joy
Somewhere there's a mother
And she's crying for her son
He's a U.S. Marine
And he is her only one
But don't you cry no tears
And don't you tell him no lies
Cause he's a U.S. Marine
And it's just his way of life.
Somewhere there's a wife
And she's crying for her man
He's a U.S. Marine
Service rifle in his hand
Some where's there's a daughter
And she's crying for her dad
He's a U.S. Marine
But even this can make him sad
But don't you cry no tears
And don't you tell him no lies
Cause he's a U.S. Marine
And it's just his way of life.
Mamma Mamma Can't You See?
Mamma Mamma can't you see,
What the Corps has done to me?
I used to wear my faded jeans,
Now I'm wearing cammie green.
I used to drive a pickup truck,
Now I pack it in my ruck.
I used to spend time at the mall,
Now I can climb any wall.
I used to drive a Subaru,
Now I'm marching through this goo.
I used to hang out on the block,
Now I'm as hard as a rock.
I used to drive a Caddilac,
Pretty woman in the back.
Cut my hair and shaved my beard,
Now I'm looking mighty weird.
I was so nasty I did smell,
Now I'm hanging on rappel.
F-18 Rolling Down the Strip
F-18 rolling down the strip.
Hornet driver on a one way trip.
Mission Top Secret, destination unknown.
He don't even know if he's ever coming home.
Scorching the ground at the speed of sound.
Devastating targets all around.
If that bogey screws with me.
He's gonna rejoin his infantry.
America depends upon our crews.
The friendly skies are the Marine Corps blues.
Army Khakis
Oh you can have your Army khakis
And your Navy blues
Cause there's a different fighting man
I'll introduce to you
His uniform is different from any you've ever seen
The Germans called him Devil Dog
His title is Marine
He was born on Parris Island
The land that God forgot
Where the sand is fourteen inches deep
The sun is boiling hot
He gets up every morning long before the sun
And runs a hundred miles or more before the day is done
When I report to Heaven
St Peter I will tell
Another Marine reporting sir
I've spent my time in hell
And when he looks around me
This is what he'll see
A hundred thousand more Marines
Standing next to me
Black and Green
Paint my face black and green,
You wont see me I'm a Recon Marine
I slipped and slithered in through the night
You wont see me till I'm ready to fight.
You'll run in the bushes you'll try to hide,
That's why you are sure to die.
You wont see me till its too late,
A flash of my blade will be your fate.
Oh Yeah
Oh Yeah
Back in 1775
Back in 1775
My Marine Corps came alive
First there came the color gold
To show the world that we are bold
Then there came the color red
To show the world the blood we shed
Then there came the color green
To show the world that we are mean
Then there came the color blue
To show the world that we are true
Oh yeah

My grand mama was 108,
She went side straddle hoppin through the pearly gates.
My grand mama was 109,
She had St. Peter doubling time.

Johnny
Momma told Johnny not to go down town.
The Marine Corps recruiter was hanging around,
but Johnny went downtown anyway
to hear what the recruiter had to say.
lo right your left right leeaaft
lo righty lo righty lo right left
The recruiter asked Johnny what he wanted to be.
Johnny said I want to be in infantry.
Johnny caught a plane out to Vietnam.
There Johnny fought the Vietcong.
Killed a hundred men with his rifle and blade.
Only god knows how many lives he saved.
Johnny was bad and he was brave.
Johnny jumped on a hand grenade.
Saved the lives of the men he led,
but now poor Johnny he was dead.
Before he died this what he said,
to tell his mother when he was dead.
Momma, Momma don't you cry,
the Marine Corps motto is Semper Fi!
Yellow Ribbon
Around her head she wore a yellow ribbon,
she wore it in the spring time in the early month of May,
and if you asked her why the hell she wore it,
she wore it for that young Marine who's far far away.
Far away, far-o-way, she wore it for that young Marine whose far far
away.
Around the bend she pushed a baby carriage,
she pushed it in the spring time in the early month of May,
and if you asked her why the hell she pushed it,
she pushed it for that young Marine who's far far away.
Far away, far-o-way, she pushed it for that young Marine whose far far
away.
In his hands her daddy kept his shotgun,
he kept it in the spring time in the early month of May,
and if you asked him why the hell he kept it,
he kept it just to blow that young Marine's ass away.
Far away, far-o-way, he kept it just to blow that young Marine's ass
away.
Marching Cadence
I like heavy metal.
I like rhythm and blues.
I like marching onward HO!
Strapping on my shoes.
ORRAAHH!
A here we go!
I feel the sweat.
I'm getting wet.
I feel the pack.
It's on my back.
ORRAAHH!
A here we go!
That Eagle Globe and Anchor!
Is good enough for me.
The Air Wing
I'm running through the Hanger with my 5/16.
I'm a Devil Dog who's in the Air Wing.
Torque wrench and speed handle by my side.
These are the tools that make Jets FLY.
Avionics is tweeking the wires right.
Flightlines got her ready for flight.
Airframes ensures it, that we're clear.
The S-Shop Marines have no purpose here.
Can't forget about the Ordnance Boys.
Loading bombs and making noise.
And when it is all said and done,
the Air Wing's the reason the War was WON!
Artillery Cadence
Late one dark and stormy night,
Grunts got in a helluv' a fight.
FPF was lighting up the sky,
Looked like the grunts were gon'a die.
CO called for close air support,
But the fighter jockeys gave a negative report.
Gunny said that mortars'll do the trick,
but the range on the mortars was only 6 klicks.
Machine guns fired 'till the barrels glowed,
Looked like it was the end of the show.
But the Arty Scout said step aside,
Immediate suppression is what he cried.
Immediate suppression cried the FDC,
Two rounds HE, fuse VT.
30 seconds it came down,
Raining hot steel deep into the ground.
The moral of the story is plain to see,
When your butt's in the stuff call ARTILLERY.
