Welcome to "3/3"!
Most of you will arrive here as your
first assignment in the Marine Corps or Navy. Some
of you will arrive as experienced NCOs, Staff NCOs, Officers and Corpsman. Some of you will be also be married, perhaps with
children underfoot, just as some may have plans in the works! All of you, in whatever company to which you are
assigned, there are an awesome number of resources to help you (and your family) thrive
professionally and personally while assigned to "Americas Battalion."
As the Battalion Chaplain, I am here
to provide for the spiritual needs of assigned personnel.
I also provide personnel and their families with pastoral counseling for a variety
of needs -- and no, you do not have to be a person of faith to speak with a Chaplain. This counseling by a Chaplain is legally protected
as confidential ("privileged") by both ordination vows and the law, and cannot
be divulged by the Chaplain to anyone, without the express permission of those in
counseling.
In
a broad stroke, the Chaplain offers assistance with:
* Religious Needs
* Family Life Issues
* Marriage & Marriage Preparation
* Grief Work
* Stress & Anger Management
* Communication Skills
* Pre and Post-Deployment Family Preparations
As you browse through this website, you will find resources and personnel who will assist
you (and your family) in your transition to this command.
Certainly, if you have questions or suggestions that will help you (or the
next Marine/Sailor) - please let me know
God
bless!
